Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) is a longtime critic of Attorney General William Barr's handling of the Justice Department, saying he thinks Barr is "very biased."
"I think he is very biased. I think he is a biased man," Cummings, who is the ranking Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, told "Fox News Sunday."
"He has been charged with being the attorney general. He has got to be the attorney general. He is the head of the Justice Department. He's got to treat everybody the same and I think he just doesn't," Cummings continued.
He also said Barr's public comments about the Mueller report "isn't helpful."
Cummings said he plans to ask Barr about why the Justice Department's handling of the release of the report "isn't helpful" in light of Barr's public comments.
"He could have answered that question and he didn't answer that question," Cummings said. "He gave that letter last week where he said, 'Yeah, I want it out.' The only problem was the report was not out."
Cummings said he plans to ask Barr about his role in the handling of the release of the report.
